Rainbows NJ Trains New Volunteers!

On a blustery day in early October, as the rains fell outside, a warm glow of compassion and empathy emanated from within the walls of St. Luke’s Church in Montclair. 30 Volunteers from across New Jersey gathered for a day of Rainbows Facilitator Training to hone their skills as empathic listeners, and learn more about the Rainbows curriculum they would implement in small groups with grieving children and families in their communities. Teachers, church volunteers, and social service providers representing public schools, churches, and community service agencies across New Jersey attended the 6-hour training workshop held at the Rainbows NJ State Chapter offices, conducted by Jill Schantz, former Rainbows Program Director and veteran Rainbows Site Coordinator and Group Facilitator. Rainbows NJ remains eternally grateful to Jill for continuing to share her gifts and experiences with eager volunteers ready to start Rainbows in their communities. A special thank you also goes out to Rainbows NJ volunteer Randi Lipton who assisted with training preparations and registration that day. Rainbows NJ remains grateful for the hard work and dedication of all of its volunteers across New Jersey, and we know this work would truly not be possible without you!
